I do still exist, just the end-of-school busy and then I took a glorious vacation to Montreal and Quebec, all of which will be written about in due time. That time is not now, because my refrigerator must be replaced and all the laundry folded and tomorrow is the first day of Shakespeare Camp for my daughter, who is both terrified and hoping that she will somehow get to play Puck. But the time will come (later tonight? tomorrow?), and in the meantime I hope you are all well.

Good to see you! I've been wondering where you'd got to. Sounds like at least some of your absence was due to good things at least.

But sudden refrigerator replacement doesn't sound good! Hope it goes as smoothly as possible. And that your daughter enjoys Shakespeare camp wether or not she gets the part.

The sudden refrigerator replacement was very irritating in the moment, but the new one is marvelous and I took the moment to get rid of some ancient jars of things and rationalise the contents somewhat, plus to begin doing proper meal planning so that I spend less time not knowing what we are eating, so it ended up serving as a launching plan to more pleasant days.

My daughter enjoyed Shakespeare camp beyond power of heart to report -- she was not Puck, but Peaseblossom, and a lovely, audible, well-played one too, and even believed that the person who played Puck instead was well-cast. And she already looks forward to next year when she will have a year of experience under her belt and be able to audition more fiercely for whatever part it is she desires.

I'm glad the new fridge has made things more pleasant. I'm terrible at meal planning and wish I was better at it.
