This week has been ridiculous in several ways which perhaps I will detail in another post, but just now it is late Saturday evening and I have drunk a glass of peach bellini and several more of grapefruit bellini (labelled pompellini which is more charming than not, I think) and watched two episodes of Nirvana in Fire (aka Lang Ya Bang) with friends. There are only two more episodes to go, so rather than waiting a few weeks as is our usual way, I think we will foregather tomorrow and finish the series and then make some sort of decision as to whether or not to try the sequel. Nirvana in Fire is so good in itself it is difficult to imagine the sequel being satisfying, and yet the author did it once so why not again?
But do not take my word on how good it is -- many people here have written about it, such as this marvelous post by
rachelmanija, and
sartorias has done an entire set of recap posts. I am, I think, going to go partake of some of those now; I like to read recaps when they are done this well, to find nuances I missed in my own viewing.
